Gigamass Ship components missing in action

Try as I might, I can't get gigamass ship components to show up in games.  I have uninstalled and switched between insiders and default.  Using the ship designer from the game launch screen, sometimes the components are there, sometimes they aren't. If I design a ship in the designer when gigamass components are shown, that ship won't be available or even listed in game.  

The more I change something, the more I get a different result.  I tried turning off Megastructures but no help. Turning off, moving stuff etc. I'm going to reinstall again because there is nothing else I can do right now. I looked for a file having the components but I didn't find it. It's not good, given the direction of the game to be without gigamass components so any help would be much appreciated.
