Custom ships did not save

Trying GalCiv 4 Supernova. Spent about 4 straight hours just customizing ships to use with a custom faction. Saved multiple templates and ship designs. Logged out, logged back in, and they are all gone.
I'm so angry I can't see (dictating this message). Is there any explanation for these designs disappearing?
