Location Location Location

Perhaps someone can bring me up to speed, but I am frustrated. In my current game, I get a message "only ships with survey capability can....etc". I have gotten messages like this referring to this or that event. Sometimes I can jump right to the place on the star map where it is happening. But for anomaly surveys, I am getting a stack of 4-5 messages with no clue how to find the location. Topic for discussion or education(mine).
What I would suggest is that any time I receive an event message I should be able to deal with it at least in terms of location. It is perhaps not a huge deal, but hate not having a method to deal with these popups. As usual, maybe I am missing something...wouldn't be the first or last time.
