Question About Short and Medium-Range Missile Volleys

I tend to prefer creating fleets of ships with missiles. After researching some number of technologies related to missiles, those ships gain the ability to perform an attack from a distance in addition to directly engaging in battle. The question I have is, how do I know the strength of the missile volleys?
The first screen snapshot below shows a fleet of 10 ships with missile weapons.
The second screen snapshot shows the popup that appears when I hover over the Short-Range Missile Volley icon.
The third screen snapshot shows the popup that appears when I hover over the Medium-Range Missile Volley icon.
None of these tells me what level of damage I can expect to inflict with a missile volley. I have been able to destroy shipyards and starbases with a single volley, but I do not know my chances of succeeding in advance of firing the missile volley. Can you modify the popups to show the power of the missile volley?
